The Solar Electric Power Association (SEPA) - formerly Utility Photovaic Group, with funding support from the U.S. Department of Energy, is led and managed by the market itself -- the potential utility buyers of solar photo voltaic systems. UPVG's mission is to accelerate the use of cost-effective small-scale and emerging large-scale applications of PV for the benefit of electric utilities and their customers. Created in September 1992, the UPVG now is concentrating on educating utility and other audiences and toward building the foundation for utility PV purchase commitments through its U.S. Department of Energy-sponsored TEAM-UP program.
