Kansas City Power & Light's comprehensive, long-term plan to meet the future energy, economic and environmental needs of the greater Kansas City area was approved by the Missouri Public Service Commission, July 28, 2005, and by the Kansas Corporation Commission on August 5, 2005.
Elements of the plan, developed through a collaborative approach, include:  new electricity generation from coal and wind environmental upgrades at existing power plants investment in affordability, efficiency and demand response programs and transmission and distribution network facilities' improvements.
