KCP&L Corporate Contributions Program

Our approach:
As a local company headquartered in Greater Kansas City and serving more than 800,000 customers in the region, KCP&L’s approach to community support is simple – a healthy company is dependent on a healthy community.

KCP&L’s commitment to this is evident through financial support, and the selfless time given by thousands of employees. That said, our community and financial resources are limited and requests must be evaluated based on connectedness to our focus areas and a proven record of effectiveness by the agencies.

Areas of focus:

At-risk youth  KCP&L supports agencies serving youth, who are vulnerable or at-risk due to socio-economic conditions. We invest in existing and emerging initiatives supporting the educational development of children from birth to career or vocation. Partner agencies are ones that have a mission statement focusing on children in this category due to poverty, violence, major life disruption and transitions.

Environment  KCP&L supports environmental efforts that build on our current business practices. These programs are targeted toward sustainability efforts and conservation and beautification of our region’s natural resources.

Economic Development  KCP&L supports agencies and strategic initiatives focused on retaining and stimulating economic development in distressed and underserved areas as well as workforce development programs geared toward the utility industry.
