KCP&L Corporate Contributions Program

Kansas City Power & Light is made up of committed, involved employees providing for current and future generations through leadership, technology, innovation and caring. It is in this spirit that we direct resources to improve the quality of life in the communities in which we serve and work.

In addition to supporting our employees in volunteerism, we’ve built our corporate funding around three fundamental areas: at-risk youth development, environment and economic/workforce development.

If you represent a non-profit, 501(C)3 organization interested in submitting a request, please review our priority areas and proposal requirements listed below.

Priority program funding areas:

At-risk youth  - support of at-risk youth agencies providing programming to improve school readiness and continued educational success.

Environment  - investments in energy efficiency programs, Right Tree Right Place efforts and beautification/conservation initiatives.

Economic Development  - strategic support of major initiatives that align with our business and retain and stimulate economic, community and workforce development.

Occasionally, KCP&L will make targeted contributions to overall quality of life issues including racial equity, arts, senior care and disaster relief.

Review Process:
There is no deadline. Submitted proposals are reviewed by an internal committee periodically throughout the year. We recommend agencies submit requests three to six months in advance of the event or programming need.
