The Company received an Environmental Excellence Award recognizing our commitment to the SkyCast's ozone forecast program designed to alert the public to high ozone days.
Through KCP&L's sponsorship, The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) was able to hire an independent weather forecasting company to develop the daily ozone forecast based on ground level ozone concentrations and weather conditions. SkyCast predictions can be viewed during local television weather broadcasts, in The Kansas City Star and heard on a pre-recorded phone message (913) 383-7557.
