Jerry Smith Park

The Jerry Smith Park is a 360-acre area, located near 139th and Holmes, owned by the Kansas City Parks Department. To assist with a long-term restoration effort, KCP&L donated large equipment and labor to clear woody and brushy cover, which has allowed prairie flowers and grasses to thrive.

One of the largest populations of the wildflower "false foxglove" in the state of Missouri is now located in the KCP&L right-of-way. This species of foxglove is a state-listed endangered plant and one of the rarest flowers in Kansas City.
