 For regional ozone forecasts, visit the Heartland SkyCast system, administered by Mid-America Regional Council (MARC). Skycast gives a prediction of the following day's expected ground-level ozone concentrations. When the ozone concentration reaches an unhealthy level, individuals are encouraged to make efforts to reduce pollution and protect their health by limiting outdoor activity. As a result of SkyCast warnings, area residents drive less, more people wait until evening to refuel their cars, and more commuters use public transit on a given Ozone Alert Day.
