When the Service Connection to Your House is Damaged

Kansas City Power & Light installs and maintains your service line (1) and electric meter (6).
Installation and maintenance of the service bracket or hook (2), weatherhead (3), pipe riser (4) and meter can (5) are the customer's responsibility. These are generally installed and maintained by a licensed electrician.
Note:
- If the meter box is pulled away from your house and you have no power, KCP&L will perform a temporary fix. You, the homeowner, are responsible for contacting an electrician for a permanent fix.
- If the meter can is pulled away from the house and you have power, you should call an electrician to re-attach the meter can.
