Eligibility Guidelines for Kansas & Missouri

For Homeowners and Renters within the KCP&L service territory and Weatherization Agency territory

    Homeowners:
  • Household earnings at or below the current income guidelines
  • Owner of the home
  • Has received electric service from KCP&L for a minimum of one year immediately preceding the date of application
  • Household energy consumption greater than 3,000 kWh per year
  • Applicant has made attempts to maintain a payment history, no matter how small

    Renters:
  • Same as above for homeowners, with the addition of:
  • Must be fully responsible for the payment of electricity bills
  • Landlord agrees under contract with the CAP agency to:
    • Pay no less than 50% of the total cost of the conservation measures
    • Not raise the rent for at least two years from the date of completion of installation of the energy conservation measures
