Latest information on restoration efforts from the storms that hit the North district on Friday morning, July 10 and South District service territory on Wednesday, July 8:

Another severe storm hit the northern part of our service area Friday morning - hardest hit being north of the Henrietta service area.

Our KCP&L and contract crew members are still working today to reset poles and repair lines to restore power to the remaining customers affected by these outages. They will continue to work night and day to restore power as quickly and safely as possible to the remaining customers who are without power.

Customers in the hardest hit areas of the South area may not have power restored until early- to mid- next week. These towns include those along Highway 69 and south of Ottawa: Princeton, Richmond, Wilda and surrounding rural areas.

Safety is the number one priority for our crews and customers. Please remember to stay away from downed trees and power lines. Always assume a downed line is energized.

View up-to-date outage information for the service area through our PowerWatch mapping system.

If your power is out please contact us at 1-888-LIGHTKC, or complete the online outage report form.

* Major storm outage: Any time a significantly large number of customers' power goes out due to a storm and restoration is expected to exceed 24 hours.
