Doing Business with KCP&L as a Supplier

Mike Chesser, CEOAt Kansas City Power & Light, we believe it’s important to tap into the power of our region’s diverse supplier base because it strengthens our company and fuels our community’s economy.

For more than 10 years, KCP&L’s Supplier Diversity initiative has opened doors to minority and women-owned businesses and listened to what they have to say. These businesses are an essential component of our local economy. That’s why we take the time to mentor and nurture business partners in our community. Because when they succeed - everybody wins.

During the past four years, KCP&L’s supplier diversity spending has increased significantly. Since 2003, we have more than tripled our supplier diversity spending, and we are committed to increasing those numbers in coming years. Our ultimate goal is to create links between minority- and women-owned businesses and the appropriate decision makers to help them turn those connections into positive business results.

We have enhanced the Supplier Diversity Web page to make it easier for you to do business with us. Some of these improvements include an online registration form for new or existing vendors, a list of products and services that we procure and links to other business chambers.

KCP&L has been recognized as a business partner of choice that works with the people in the communities in which we serve. We look forward to working with you in the near future.

Sincerely,
Chesser signature
