Congratulations to Ruby Rios, our 2017 MVP winner!Ruby Rios from Kansas City, Mo., nominated by her father, is our Community MVP for 2017. Ruby has been very active in the Kansas City area trying to improve STEM education for young people, particularly for girls. Read about her hard work, accomplishments and leadership serving our community.

The KCP&L Community MVP program recognizes and rewards standout community student volunteers for their work in our service area. We selected 10 finalists from all the nominations you submitted. As our finalist, Ruby will receive a $5,000 scholarship to a 529 College Savings Plan. The other nine finalists each receive a $1,000 scholarship to a 529 College Savings Plan. In addition, all finalists will receive a VIP game-day experience, catching a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead.
